Power Girl stands resolute in her white costume against a vivid neon cityscape, while looming behind her in the glow of marquee signs — one of which reads "Aliens Invade" — are three menacing extraterrestrial figures, suggesting the alien trouble New York is facing hasn't quite wrapped up yet. The playful "Take Out or Eat In" sign and the subway backdrop give the whole scene a distinctly New York flavour that writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti clearly relish. Amanda Conner's cover art, inked by Conner herself with colours by Paul Mounts, delivers a sharp blend of superhero tension and urban wit that made this 2009 run so appealing.
