In "City of Nomads," the tension between ape factions reaches a breaking point when an assassin strikes down Commander Dymaxius during a feast celebrating a fragile peace. Accused by King Argol and framed by the orangutan elite, the warrior Barbarus is forced to take up arms, igniting a violent conflict as the apes turn on one another—chimps armed with guns pitted against apes wielding swords and knives, all while the very water meant to sustain them is poisoned.

In "Escape From the Planet of the Apes: Part 1: Upward to the Earth," three astronauts—two chimpanzees and one human—find themselves trapped in a world they never expected: Earth, in the not-so-distant future. After revealing their true identities to American military officials, they’re forced to play dumb, hiding their intelligence behind the illusion of animal behavior, only to be locked away at the Los Angeles Zoo.
