The assassin is spotted by Barbarus, but eludes capture. The orangutang ruling elite are feasting in celebration of the coming peace treaty with the gorillas. The assassin kills orangutang Commander Dymaxius. King Argol believes Barbarus is to blame and order his underlings to make war upon the ape. The ape's water is poisoned and supplies thrown overboard. Barbarus declares war on the orangutangs. The orangutangs put forward chimps with guns and the apes fight for themselves armed with swords and knives.
