In "Pin Head," Archie’s thoughtless gift of an expensive birthstone pin to Veronica sets off a chain of misunderstandings when she gently tells him he shouldn’t have spent so much. Taking her words too literally, Archie impulsively returns the pin, sparking a small but heartfelt moment of miscommunication between the two.

In "Shining Example," Archie is stuck polishing doorknobs under Mr. Weatherbee’s strict new detention policy, only to find that five stubborn, unpolished knobs are driving both him and the principal utterly mad. The school’s gleaming halls aren’t helping—every shiny surface just highlights the one thing that won’t shine.
