Archie... Archie Andrews, Where Are You? Comics Digest Magazine #50
In "No Joking," Archie Andrews finds himself caught in a whirlwind of misunderstandings when Veronica Lodge’s father, Mr. Lodge, grows suspicious of Archie’s perfect behavior—so much so that he pressures Veronica to send Archie away. Just as Archie storms off in frustration, he runs into Smithers, the Lodge family butler, whose quiet presence somehow eases the tension. The moment is charged with humor and heart, as Mr. Lodge finally relaxes, leaving Veronica free to express her feelings in a surprise moment that leaves Archie both stunned and delighted. Written by George Gladir and brought to life with Dan DeCarlo Jr.’s expressive art and Jimmy DeCarlo’s inks, this 1987 issue captures the charm and whimsy of Riverdale at its most playful. Cover by Dan DeCarlo.

Veronica is going to talk to her dad about a new sportscar. At Veronica's house, Mr. Lodge keeps waiting for Archie to mess up, but he never does. Worried, he gets Veronica to ask Archie to leave. Angry, Archie stomps off and runs into Smithers, the Lodge's butler. Seeing the calamity, Mr. Lodge is at once relaxed, telling Veronica that if she wants to discuss her new sportscar, he'll be in his study. Overjoyed, Veronica rushes to a confused Archie and kisses him.
