Riverdale's favorite gang crowds the banner of Pep #220 (August 1968), with Archie, Betty, Veronica, and friends perched playfully across the masthead. The cover's real charm unfolds below, where Betty and Veronica pitch a stick-on tattoo fad to an enthusiastically receptive Miss Grundy — only for the bottom panel to reveal poor Archie staring in horror at a very prominent "F" as Miss Grundy calls everyone up for their final French grade.
