With Archie and Betty left to plan the evening, Jughead is sent off to gather firewood.
In this lighthearted 1967 tale from *Pep #209*, Archie takes a daring climb up a tall tree to retrieve Jughead’s crow’s latest theft—Veronica’s prized red ruby ring—only to find out it was just one of her imitations. With the real treasure gone, Archie’s heroic effort ends with a sweet gesture: he gives Betty an imitation gold bracelet he finds in the crow’s nest, and she’s thrilled it came from him.
In "What a Card!", Greg’s dad and Hap both get computer cards from a book club, only to discover that more punch holes mean higher status—until Li'l Jinx, eager to impress, maxes out her dad’s card with extra holes, leading to a flood of books and a swift scolding.
In "Happy Anniversary," Betty and Veronica go all out to celebrate their relationships with Archie, each presenting him with a lavish gift to mark their anniversaries. But when Archie hands them flimsy, cheap tokens in return—only to be caught spending far more on another girl—their outrage is instant and unforgettable.
