Jughead's Double Digest #104
In "Catch As Catch Can," Archie and Jughead dive into trouble—literally—when their scuba-salvage scheme goes awry during a Mr. Lodge-sponsored parade. Escaping chaos on a motor scooter and a pair of scuba tanks, they’re rescued by Betty, who suggests a peaceful picnic on a secluded island. As Jughead heads out to collect firewood, the real adventure begins. Art by Bob Bolling brings the underwater antics and island shenanigans to life, with a vibrant cover by Stan Goldberg and Bob Smith.
Veronica teases Jughead about his comics obsession and his daydreams of being the Riverdale Avenger—until she starts wondering if those old issues might actually be worth something. Suddenly, the game changes, and her curiosity turns into a very real interest in the value of his collection.
Jughead tries his hand at selling ice cream, but his sales take a nosedive when a glamorous rival vendor shows up and draws all the customers. Determined to win them back, he reinvents himself—complete with a new charm and a flair for the dramatic—just as his usual self starts to feel a little too… plain.
When Chuck accidentally turns his canoe into a sailboat and finds himself heading straight for a waterfall, his panic is only matched by the sudden realization that he’s lost control. Luckily, Jughead and Archie are nearby, ready to help — though whether they’ll save the day or just end up in another messy situation remains to be seen.
In "I Love a Parade, Usually!", Archie and Jughead’s attempt to salvage golf balls for resale takes a chaotic turn when their scooter sends the balls flying into a Mr. Lodge-sponsored parade. Chased by furious parade-goers, the duo narrowly escape using their scuba gear—only to be rescued by Betty, who suggests a peaceful picnic on a secluded island. With Archie and Betty planning their quiet evening, Jughead is sent off to gather firewood.
