Pep #210
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis sun-soaked October 1967 issue of Pep captures the gang in full summer-escape mode — on a packed beach, Archie and Veronica wade into the surf declaring they can hardly wait to get away from the crowd, only to find the crowd has followed them right into the water below. Dan DeCarlo's pencils (inked by Rudy Lapick) split the cover into two delightful panels: the chaotic shoreline above and a sprawling underwater scene below, where the whole gang swims in scuba gear amid a sea of other vacationers. It's a breezy, self-aware gag that perfectly captures Riverdale's brand of cheerful bad luck.
