With a wild twist of fate, their escape comes from an unlikely hero: Juanita, a feisty old burro with a fondness for Alex, who shows her affection in the most memorable way possible. Written by Frank Doyle and brought to life with vibrant art by Stan Goldberg, inks by Jon D'Agostino, and colors by Barry Grossman, this 1979 adventure features a cover by Dan DeCarlo.
In "Spring Has Sprung," Archie bets he’s finally won over a girl by volunteering to watch her dog, but as the season blooms, his plans unravel in classic fashion—while Jughead, ever the unexpected contender, might just be the one to catch her eye.
In "Spanish Gold," the gang ventures to the Cabot estate in Latin America, chasing rumors of long-lost Spanish treasure. What they find instead is a stash of stolen money—and a dangerous secret that puts them in real peril—until a grumpy old burro named Juanita, who’s oddly fond of Alex, comes to their rescue with a surprisingly effective kick.
In "What a Card!", Greg and Li'l Jinx find themselves caught in a silly rivalry when their dads each receive computer cards from a book club. With Greg's dad's card boasting more punch holes, the kids assume he's the more important adult—until Li'l Jinx tries to prove otherwise by adding extra holes to her dad's card, sparking a flood of books and a swift, very real consequence.
Archie finds himself at a sweltering outdoor party at the Lodges' on a sticky summer night, where the heat has everyone miserable—except Veronica, who seems to be enjoying herself. As the air thickens and the fun starts to wilt, Archie wonders if he’s the only one who can’t stand the unbearable conditions.
