DC's long-running war series brings Sgt. Rock to "The 5th Bridge" in this December 1975 issue, with a cover by Joe Kubert that pulses with battlefield urgency. The cover depicts a bare-chested soldier reeling backward under tremendous force, his ammunition belt flying loose, while a helmeted figure and a tank loom in the chaos above him — planes streaking through a smoke-filled sky completing the sense of an all-out combat maelstrom. With Robert Kanigher writing and art by Norman Maurer and Mike Grell on the interior, this is DC's war storytelling firing on all cylinders.
