Mighty Marvel Masterworks: Thor #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis inaugural volume of the Mighty Marvel Masterworks line devoted to the God of Thunder reprints the earliest solo adventures of Thor from Journey into Mystery #83-89 and #91-93. It introduces the iconic Silver Age dynamic between the thunder god and his scheming adopted brother Loki, while also pitting Donald Blake's heroic alter ego against early foes like the Cobra, Mister Hyde, and the Radioactive Man. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's foundational run establishes the cosmic and mythological scope of Asgard, setting the stage for decades of epic storytelling.
In "The Stone Men from Saturn!", Thor answers a call from India, where his human identity, Don Blake, discovers his old teacher has been murdered by a serpent-powered villain. When the Cobra strikes New York, Thor steps in to stop him, while Jane Foster, newly disillusioned by her boss's cowardice, returns to work with Blake. A classic tale of myth and menace, this issue features Stan Lee’s storytelling and Don Heck’s dynamic art, with a striking cover by Michael Cho, Jack Kirby, and Dick Ayers.
