Lucifer #70

Mike Carey and Zander Cannon bring us Lucifer #70 from Vertigo's 2006 lineup, featuring a cover by Mike Kaluta that's richly atmospheric — a glowing, flame-crowned figure presides over an open tome while a horned woman and a gathering of small demonic creatures huddle close, the whole scene framed by ornate baroque architecture bathed in warm, amber light. The title "Fireside Tales" promises exactly the kind of intimate, myth-laden storytelling this series does so well. It's a beautifully rendered invitation into Lucifer's ever-unsettling world.
