Mike Kaluta's cover for this sixth and final chapter of "Morningstar" is a breathtaking piece of draftsmanship — a massive, red-haired winged figure dominates the composition, wings spread wide and one hand reaching toward the viewer with unsettling intensity, while a radiant angelic form glows in the background, haloed in gold. The tension between those two presences — overwhelming and intimate at once — perfectly captures the grand stakes Mike Carey, Peter Gross, and Ryan Kelly have been building across this arc. Vertigo's Lucifer was consistently one of 2006's most thoughtfully crafted series, and this concluding chapter looks every bit the part.
