This issue features two stories. In "Hot-Rod in Cousin Trouble," Hot-Rod's cousin Elfrieda visits and disrupts his day with drawing guns and playing rough games, forcing him to entertain her rather than pursue his own activities. In the main story, Little Eva goes on a lake trip where she imagines cooling scenarios including a snowman, an igloo, and an air-conditioned house to escape the heat, ultimately arriving at the lake eager to jump into the water. A subplot shows Little Eva and a boy named Clarence running a house-to-house campaign selling ice cream to neighbors, spraying them with a spray gun during their sales pitch.
