This anthology issue contains two stories. "Hot-Rod in Cousin Trouble" features Hot-Rod attempting to entertain his visiting cousin Elfreda, but she proves to be a handful, causing mischief and leading him on increasingly wild adventures. In the main Little Eva story, Eva and a friend attempt to make money by selling items door-to-door to the neighbors, including a homemade perfume, in order to raise funds for activities at the lake.

Little Eva

When Little Eva finds a stethoscope on the street, she decides to hunt down its owner at the local hospital, hoping for a reward—but her well-intentioned plan quickly spirals into chaos as she inadvertently creates mayhem throughout the wards. From impersonating a patient to hiding in the nursery, Little Eva's misadventure teaches her that good deeds don't always go as planned, especially when things get turned topsy-turvy.

Hot Rod

Hot Rod thinks he's got it made when his little cousin Elfreda shows up for a visit—he's got a ball game to get to, and no way is he letting a girl tag along! But Elfreda's got other ideas, and his attempts to lose her in increasingly ridiculous games of hide-and-seek and follow-the-leader keep backfiring in the funniest ways. When Hot Rod finally enlists his pal Cindy to take Elfreda off his hands, he has no idea what kind of trouble he's really walked into.

Little Eva

Little Eva battles the summer heat in this lighthearted romp, bouncing from one cooling-off scheme to another—raiding the refrigerator, hunting for a swimming spot, and scrambling to gather all her gear. When she finally tracks down the perfect place to take a dip, she discovers she's left the one thing she actually needs back home. It takes her mother's simple suggestion to solve what all her resourcefulness couldn't.

The Strange Perfume

Little Eva

Little Eva and her friend Clarence launch a perfume-selling scheme using a homemade formula and a repurposed garden sprayer, only to discover their creation is spectacularly foul-smelling. After their door-to-door campaign backfires spectacularly, they stumble onto an unexpected use for their awful concoction that just might turn their failed business around. A hilarious tale of youthful entrepreneurship and the law of unintended consequences.
