Li'l Genius #41
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis issue contains two stories. "Ship Wrecker!" follows Li'l Genius and the Olsens on an ocean voyage where Li'l Genius inadvertently causes chaos aboard ship, including a confrontation with enemy U-boats and battle stations, ultimately ending with him in the water questioning what he did. In "Marvin the Matador!", the famous bullfighter Marvin leads a parade and performs in a bullfighting ring, dramatically swirling his red cape as he faces off against a fierce bull while crowds cheer with delight.
Ollie joins his family for a European ocean voyage, but the young troublemaker immediately sets about disrupting the entire ship—from causing customs chaos with his overstuffed trunks to befuddling dinner plans, lifeboat drills, and sparking distress signals all over the ocean. In this 1962 humor romp, every activity Ollie attempts somehow spirals into mayhem, proving that getting a sea voyage's peace and quiet from a boy with his ingenuity is every bit as impossible as sailing through a hurricane.
Marvin the Matador faces off against El Toro in a thrilling bullfight before a roaring crowd, working the beast with his cape in a display of skill that leaves the spectators on the edge of their seats. But when the crucial moment arrives and Marvin prepares to seal the bull's fate, El Toro surprises him with an unexpected plea that makes the confident matador reconsider what's about to happen.
Daniel Boone earned his place in American legend through fearless exploits in the wilderness—serving as a sharpshooter in the French and Indian Wars, exploring the untamed Kentucky frontier, and surviving capture by Indians. Despite tremendous hardship, Boone established the fortified settlement of Boonesboro, opening vast new territory for American pioneers and securing his legacy as one of the nation's greatest frontiersmen.
