The cover of this 1992 DC series entry says it all: B.I.O.N. sets his sights on the Legion, and the cover by Jason Pearson (pencils) and Karl Story (inks) captures the sheer terror of that threat — two figures, mouths open in alarm, trapped within the overwhelming shadow of something enormous and jagged bearing down on them. "Showdown!" is the single-word promise blazed across the bottom, and the image of those two desperate faces dwarfed by crackling darkness makes the stakes feel genuinely dire. With Giffen, the Bierbaums, Pearson, and Harris all on board, this is the Legion of Super-Heroes creative team firing on all cylinders.
