Written by Geoff Johns and Alex Ross, with art by Dale Eaglesham and others, it follows the JSA as they rebuild their ranks and face a new threat tied to their legacy.
"Prologue" from Justice Society #1 (2006) sets the stage for a multiversal mystery, exploring the delicate balance between Earth-1 and Earth-2—two worlds sharing the same space yet separated by differing vibrational frequencies. Through the contrasting lives of heroes from each realm, the story quietly establishes the unique nature of their realities, hinting at the deeper connections that bind them.
In the skies above Earth, Brain Wave unleashes a terrifying plan to destroy both the Justice Society and the planet itself. When an urgent message alerts the JSA to imminent disasters in three cities, teams race to respond—only to find the crises already being handled by the Star-Spangled Kid, Robin, and Power Girl. Recognizing a shared threat, Power Girl proposes uniting the JSA with these three heroes to form the All Star Super Squad, a new team facing a villain whose mind is as dangerous as his ambition.
In "Brainwave Blows Up!", the Justice Society faces a shocking return: Brainwave, now in a new body and joined by the rejuvenated Per Degaton, unleashes chaos that tests the team’s resolve. With old enemies reassembled and the stakes higher than ever, the heroes must adapt fast—just as a new threat begins to take shape.
In "Hellfire and Holocaust," the Justice Society of America and the Super Squad clash with the relentless Vulcan, only to face a far greater threat when Dr. Fate is left comatose and an ancient alien force, Zanadu, awakens in the aftermath.
In "When Fall the Mighty," the Justice Society is thrown into chaos as Dr. Fate lies dying and Zanadu strikes, abducting Hawkgirl and trapping Superman and Power Girl in a tomb beneath the earth. With Wildcat turning on Hawkman under mysterious influence and the team scattered, the battle for survival tests their bonds in ways no hero could have foreseen.
In "The Death of Doctor Fate," the heroic Doctor Fate falls gravely wounded as Zanadu unleashes his grand design upon Earth-2. Just when all seems lost, fate itself intervenes—pulling the sorcerer back from the brink to face the threat once more. With the Injustice Society reassembling and Fiddler manipulating Wildcat, the Justice Society must rally against Solomon Grundy and the rising chaos, as the fate of Earth-2 hangs in the balance.
In "Yesterday Begins Today!", Star-Spangled Kid retools his Cosmic Rod into a Cosmic Belt as Superman—though retired—joins the Justice Society on a mission that sends them back to the time of King Arthur and Camelot. There, they encounter an earlier version of The Shining Knight, setting the stage for a clash with the ever-enduring Vandal Savage.
In "The Master Plan of Vandal Savage," the Justice Society of America and the Freedom Fighters confront the ancient villain as he unleashes a desperate scheme to reclaim his immortality by stealing Superman’s powers. With the battlefield warped by the twin green kryptonite suns of an alien world, the heroes face a dangerous imbalance—every advantage Vandal gains comes at a steep cost to their strength. The fight tests their resolve, their unity, and their will to stand against a foe who has survived centuries, even as they prepare for the next threat on Earth-2.
In "Injustice Strikes Twice!", the Justice Society of America stands at a moral crossroads as they confront the Injustice Society in a high-stakes battle for Wildcat’s life. Meanwhile, Gotham City’s Police Commissioner Bruce Wayne watches their actions unfold, troubled by their escalating tactics and questioning whether the JSA’s methods have crossed a line. The tension mounts as the line between heroism and vigilantism begins to blur.
In "The Attack of the Underlord!", the Justice Society of America battles the Underlord and his forces as they attempt to seize control of Earth-2’s surface world, all while Gotham City’s Commissioner Bruce Wayne secretly undermines them by releasing the Psycho Pirate. With tensions rising both underground and above, the team must navigate betrayal and invasion—before the lines between ally and enemy vanish completely.
