“Stagg Party!”

A massive purple-clad villain dominates the foreground of Bart Sears and Joe Rubinstein's cover, clutching a blonde woman while the Justice League Europe — including the Flash, Metamorpho, and Captain Atom — scramble chaotically behind him. The cover's speech bubbles ("Now that I found you, baby — nothin's gonna tear us apart!") promise the kind of menacing yet darkly comic confrontation that made Giffen and DeMatteis's 1989 run so entertaining. Issue five of Justice League Europe looks to be a wild ride, with the team thoroughly on the back foot against a foe who clearly has very personal stakes in this fight.
