Justice League Europe #36

The "Breakdowns" saga reaches its postscript with this March 1992 issue of Justice League Europe, and the cover by Kevin Maguire and Karl Story says it all — a smirking suited figure and a stern older man in the foreground loom large, while Blue Beetle and a scatter of other League members tumble and swirl chaotically around them. That bold starburst asking "THE END OF AN ERA?" gives the whole composition a wonderfully dramatic charge, hinting at upheaval without spelling out a single spoiler. Jones, Wozniak, and Campanella carry the story inside, making this a satisfying capstone to one of the JLE's most turbulent stretches.
