Justice League Dark #7

Part one of "Rise of the Vampires" kicks off in this May 2012 New 52 entry, with Ryan Sook's cover depicting Zatanna at the forefront, arm outstretched in fishnet gloves, as she and her teammates — including the trenchcoat-clad John Constantine and a white-faced Deadman — are surrounded on all sides by snarling, monstrous vampires. The tagline "Against an Ancient Evil!" sets the tone perfectly for what Peter Milligan, Daniel Sampere, and Admira Wijaya have in store. If you're looking for supernatural team dynamics and some genuinely unsettling horror energy from DC's darker corner, this is a strong place to dive in.
