Justice League Dark #8

Part 3 of "Rise of the Vampires" arrives in this 2012 New 52 entry, with the cover by Ryan Sook depicting a harrowing confrontation: a pale, vein-marked figure — Cain himself — looms above with an open, otherworldly cry, while a vampire woman with red hair and crimson eyes bares her fangs over a prone blonde victim below, and a dark-clad figure is swept up in a swirl of violet energy between them. Peter Milligan and Daniel Sampere continue their supernatural saga as the Justice League Dark faces what the cover boldly declares "the Evil of Cain." The composition, all crimson shadow and eerie purple light, makes it immediately clear that the stakes — and the teeth — are very much out.
