Deep in a murky swamp, Impulse drags a wide-eyed blond civilian to safety while a hulking, fang-baring creature looms out of the shadows behind them — and the cover's bold "Monsters!" tagline makes the stakes immediately clear. Ramos and Faucher's cover crackles with kinetic energy, capturing the young speedster mid-rescue with the kind of breathless urgency that suits the character perfectly. Mark Waid's "Secret Identity" chapter promises plenty to chew on, and this 1995 DC issue is a fun, spirited entry in Impulse's solo run.
