Impulse looks genuinely rattled on this June 1996 cover by Humberto Ramos and Wayne Faucher — the young speedster in his red-and-gold costume recoils wide-eyed as a gauntleted fist thrusts toward him, all while a crowd of menacing, shadowy figures looms behind him in the darkness. The story title "Faith!" splashed across the top hints that Bart Allen may need every bit of it to get through whatever confrontation awaits him inside. Mark Waid's series was consistently one of DC's most energetic reads in 1996, and this cover makes a compelling case for why.
