Green Lantern finds himself overwhelmed and pinned down by a mob of armed antagonists on M. D. Bright and Romeo Tanghal's cover for this May 1993 issue — with a red-suited, gun-wielding hero standing defiantly above the chaos and a long-haired woman in blue looking on from a nearby vessel. Written by Gerard Jones with interior art by Bright and Tanghal, issue #39's "Life Forces" promises the kind of crowded, kinetic confrontation that made this early-'90s run such a fun ride.
