G.I. Joe, a Real American Hero #65
In "Shuttle Complex," the G.I. Joe team faces a high-stakes orbital showdown as they race to protect a critical spy satellite from Cobra’s assault—only to see their mission unravel when Commander Fred, stepping in after the Baroness is felled, makes a devastating call that destroys the very assets they were meant to safeguard. Meanwhile, Snake-Eyes, Scarlett, and the Blind Master press forward through the White Clown’s circus on a dangerous mission to rescue their comrades from a remote gulag in Borovia. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Ron Wagner, with inks by Randy Emberlin and colors by Bob Sharen, this 1987 Marvel classic blends space combat with covert intrigue, all wrapped in a striking cover by Mike Zeck and Bob McLeod.

It's an all out space war as the Joes launch a shuttle to try and keep Cobra from destroying a recently upgraded spy satellite that detected Cobra activity (as well as protect the secret behind the Terror-Dromes), but fail when Fred (as the Commander) destroys the three satellites in orbit (including one of their own) after taking charge when the Baroness is knocked unconscious during the space battle. Meanwhile, Snake-Eyes, Scarlett, and the Blind Master join the White Clown's circus en route to Borovia as they continue their rescue plan for the three Joes in the gulag.
