G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #164
In "Broken Illusions And Escapes," the stakes rise at PIT III as Cobra Commander orchestrates a diversion through Dr. Mindbender’s attack, enabling Destro and the Dreadnoks to spring the Baroness from captivity. With Spirit seemingly falling to stop a lone B.A.T. rigged with explosives, Snake-Eyes finds unexpected redemption when Storm Shadow uses the Arashikage mindset to break the late Dr. Venom’s hold over him—though Billy remains under Venom’s lingering influence. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by S. L. Gallant, with inks by Gary Erskine, colors by J. Brown, and letters by Shawn Lee, this pivotal issue blends tense action with emotional weight, all framed by a striking cover by Herb Trimpe and Larry Hama.

Cobra Commander ok's the attack on PIT III by Dr. Mindbender as a diversion while Destro and the Dreadnoks free the Baroness, as Spirit falls(?) to stop a lone B.A.T. armed w/explosives set to blow up the PIT. Snake-Eyes is freed from the late Dr. Venom's control by Storm Shadow using the Arashikage mindset, returning his sword brother back to normal (Snake-Eyes failing his own attempt last issue by way of Venom's actions inside his mind via the scanner), but Billy is still under Venom's influence.
