“Playing With The Big Boys !”

In "Playing With The Big Boys!", the G.I. Joe team reunites in New York as the Commander orchestrates a daring, temporary takeover of a laser system controlled by Joe and Jane. With precision and deception, he redirects the beam to destroy a drug-laden cargo ship bound for Broca Beach, a move that clears the immediate threat—only to set the stage for a far more dangerous game. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Andrew Wildman, with inks by Bob Downs and Stephen Baskerville, and colors by Bob Sharen, the issue’s cover by Wildman captures the tension of a moment that’s as calculated as it is explosive.

As the Joes meet up with Joe again in New York, the Commander plots to take over the laser system run by Joe and Jane. He does, but only temporary, so as to launch a laser beam towards a cargo ship carrying drugs to Broca Beach by the Headman and his Headhunters, which hits dead on, destroying the ship. The Commander then escapes undetected, and plots to really get the Joes bad, no more fooling around.
