G.I. Joe, a Real American Hero #103
In "Amazing the Welkin," Storm Shadow manipulates the Jugglers into assigning Snake-Eyes a mission, hoping to distract him from Scarlett’s unexpected recovery from a coma. As the Joes clash with Darklon’s forces at Sierra Gordo alongside the Oktober Guard and the Tucaro Indians, a hidden threat unfolds in Millville—where the Commander’s Brainwave Scanner keeps the townspeople under control, and Hawk’s attempt to expose the truth ends in the arrest of Mutt and Spirit, only for the mind-control to reignite with the word "Broca." Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by M. D. Bright, with inks by Randy Emberlin, colors by Bob Sharen, and letters by Rick Parker, the cover by Lee Weeks captures the tension of a world teetering on the edge.

Storm Shadow blackmails the Jugglers to get Snake-Eyes a mission to get his mind off of Scarlett, who amazingly revives from her coma. The Joes and The Oktober Guard, alongside the Tucaro Indians, battle at Sierra Gordo vs. Darklon's forces. Meanwhile, in Millville, the Commander's plan to keep its citizens under the Brainwave Scanner's influence works as they shoo off Hawk when he approaches the town (making it seem like things are normal once more), and he arrests Mutt and Spirit, but as soon as they leave, the influence is reactivated by a code word (Broca).
