Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #34

This October 1991 Infinity Gauntlet crossover finds the Sorcerer Supreme in serious peril — the cover by Dan Lawlis and Al Milgrom shows Doctor Strange, his Cloak of Levitation billowing and the Eye of Agamotto gleaming, bracing against a towering, dark-robed figure whose hands crackle with fiery energy, with shadowy skull-like forms looming ominously in the background. The tagline "Dark Doom!" sets an appropriately foreboding tone for Strange's magical confrontation. Roy Thomas and Dann Thomas steer the good Doctor through one of Marvel's grandest cosmic events, and this issue looks like a genuinely tense chapter in that saga.
