Pip the Troll
Once a prince of the Laxidazian Trolls, Pip Gofern was transformed into a troll after carousing with their kind on his homeworld. Stripped of his noble life, he embraced his roguish new existence and eventually crossed paths with Adam Warlock, beginning a life of cosmic misadventure.
Few Bronze Age oddballs have carved out as lasting a niche as Pip the Troll, who crashed onto the scene in Strange Tales #179 in 1975, conjured by the singular imagination of Jim Starlin during one of Marvel's most cosmically ambitious eras. Over five decades β from the Bronze Age all the way into the present β this scrappy, irreverent figure has kept remarkable company, sharing adventures with the likes of Adam Warlock, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, and Thor across titles ranging from Silver Surfer to Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme and She-Hulk. With 69 catalog appearances and five recognized key issues to his name, Pip is far more than a footnote in Marvel's cosmic tapestry β he's a recurring, endearing thread woven through decades of it. If you love the weirder, wilder corners of the Marvel Universe, this troll is absolutely worth tracking down.
Real name. Pip Gofern
