Detective Comics #8

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, Detective Comics #8 (June 2012) finds Batman launching himself through a stormy sky — cape spread wide, fists ready — while two burlap-masked figures loom in the foreground and background, giving the cover an unmistakable air of dread. The story is titled "Scare Tactics," and Tony Daniel's cover work makes the threat feel immediate, with those scarecrow-like adversaries pressing in from both sides as the Dark Knight charges straight at the reader. It's a striking visual setup for what looks to be a tense, atmospheric chapter in Batman's New 52 adventures.
