Detective Comics #29

Part three of the "Gothtopia" arc arrives in this May 2014 issue of Detective Comics, and Guillem March's cover sets the tension perfectly — a close-up Batman looms in the foreground, cape spread wide, while a mass of skull-masked and grotesquely costumed villains press in from behind, weapons raised and ready. The sheer number of adversaries crowding the left side of the image makes it clear that the Dark Knight is facing overwhelming odds as this trilogy concludes. John Layman, Aaron Lopresti, and Art Thibert bring "The Truth and Nothing But" to its finish line, promising a worthy payoff to one of the New 52's more unsettling Gotham City storylines.
