Deadpool Classic #17
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis volume collects the final chapters of Daniel Way's lengthy Deadpool run, wrapping up the Merc with a Mouth's ongoing conflict with the villainous Headcanon organization. The story pits Deadpool against Bullseye and Silver Sable while also featuring significant moments for Domino, as Wade Wilson's chaotic past catches up with him in a climactic showdown. It's the 17th entry in the Deadpool Classic line, reprinting issues from the tail end of Way's tenure on the series.
In "Wade Wilson's War Part 1," Deadpool spins a wild tale for a skeptical Senate, claiming his team, Team X, are delusional experiments turned heroes—only to twist the narrative when he and Domino reveal themselves as super-powered assassins sent to eliminate corrupt senators. Written by Duane Swierczynski and illustrated by Jason Pearson, with inks by Dexter Vines and colors by Paul Mounts, this issue blurs reality and fiction in a razor-sharp, meta-driven thriller. The cover by Jason Pearson captures the chaos perfectly.

Domino appears before the senate and tells them the story Deadpool has fed them is a complete lie. Team X is made up of, not super powered agents, but delusional medical experiments gone wrong who decided to try and play hero. When eveyone's guard is down, Deadpool and Domino flip the script again by proving they are, in fact, super powered agents who have been tasked with killing a bunch of difficult senators. Bullets fly and public servants die as Deadpool and Domino complete their mission and escape. BUT the whole thing turns out to be a comic story Deadpool has created from the loony bin.
