“The McSweeney Case”

In "The McSweeney Case," Catwoman finds herself drawn into a mystery that ties her past to a forgotten cult, as she and Holly travel to St Roch with unexpected help from Ted Grant. With the aid of Hawkman’s knowledge of the ancient Beti-Ma cult and a surprising twist involving a long-lost brother, Selina’s journey takes a personal turn—though the full truth behind her connection to the statue remains just out of reach. Written by Ed Brubaker and brought to life by Guy Davis’s evocative art, with coloring by Lee Loughridge and inking by Cameron Stewart, this issue blends suspense and emotional stakes, all framed by Stewart’s striking cover.

Holly and Selina are taking the train to St Roch. Ted Grant meets them at the tracks. Ted tells Selina that he can't find the temple hidden in a building where they originally encountered the cultists. They end up at Hawkman and Hawkgirl's place. Carter Hall deduces they encountered the cult of Beti-Ma, whose history he explains. They think Selina has somehow gotten involved when she touched that statue. Holly is waiting for Selina as she's late to meet her. She suddenly spots her long-lost brother Davey. Selina reveals the whole trip was planned as a surprise reunion.
