“No Easy Way Down Part One”

In "No Easy Way Down Part One," Selina Kyle grapples with haunting memories as she drifts between dreams of peace and the harsh reality of her fractured life. With Slam drawn into a missing persons case and their relationship hanging in the balance, Selina retreats into the shadows, dodging both personal connections and the weight of her past. Written by Ed Brubaker and illustrated with sharp emotional precision by Javier Pulido—whose dynamic pencils and inks define the cover—this issue captures a pivotal moment in Selina’s journey, where every choice feels like a step toward unraveling.

Selina has a dream that she's walking around with Maggie and she's fine. Slam picks up a case where a corporate lawyer's wife has gone missing. He and Selina have been sleeping together, but he isn't sure they're in a relationship and is afraid to ask her directly because of her state of mind. Selina avoids meaningful conversations with Slam and runs to fight crime to keep her mind busy. She avoids Holly and Maggie. Holly and Karon are visiting Maggie, but Holly is avoiding Selina and is having trouble coping with what happened to Maggie and with having shot someone.
