“Relentless Part Five”

In "Relentless Part Five," Selina Kyle faces her most dangerous test yet as Black Mask and Sylvia hold Holly and Maggie hostage, forcing her into a brutal exchange. With tension mounting and her past catching up to her, Selina fights to save those she cares about—using cunning, courage, and a well-placed bomb to turn the tide. Written by Ed Brubaker and illustrated by Cameron Stewart, with colors by Matt Hollingsworth and letters by Sean Konot, this gripping chapter delivers high-stakes action and emotional weight. The cover by J. G. Jones captures the moment’s intensity, a 2.50 USD comic from 2003 that remains a standout in Catwoman’s story.

Sylvia and Black Mask are waiting for Selina. They use Holly as a hostage and Selina agrees to exchange her life for Holly and Maggie. Black Mask chains Selina up and then tells Sylvia to kill Maggie and Holly anyway. Selina sets off a bomb she planted earlier to distract Black Mask as she breaks free of the chains. She knocks Black Mask off the balcony. Sylvia pulls a gun on Selina, but Holly shoots her before she can cause any more damage. Dr. Thompkins informs Selina that Maggie has gone through some trauma and will need to stay in an asylum for a while.
