“Anodyne Part One of Four”

In "Anodyne Part One of Four," Selina Kyle returns to Gotham with no clear direction, only the weight of her past and a city that’s changed. Reunited with her old friend Holly, she’s drawn into a chilling mystery when Holly reveals that several sex workers have been murdered—each killed in a way that suggests a personal, intimate connection. With Darwyn Cooke’s sharp, noir-inspired art and Ed Brubaker’s taut storytelling, this first issue sets a moody, grounded tone, weaving Selina’s uncertain return with a growing sense of danger. The cover by Cooke captures the story’s haunting mood in bold, expressive lines.
