This volume collects the first seven issues of the 2010-2011 Brightest Day series, a direct sequel to the Blackest Night event. It follows the resurrected heroes and villains—including Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Firestorm, and the Hawks—as they grapple with new powers and a mysterious mission from the life entity that brought them back. Tomasi, with art by Ivan Reis, Patrick Gleason, Ardian Syaf, Scott Clark, and Joe Prado, and colored by Peter Steigerwald, Beth Sotelo, Aspen MLT, and John Starr, this issue blends emotional stakes with cosmic mystery. In "Under Pressure," Hawk confronts Deadman, desperate to bring his brother back, but Don insists he’s at peace and refuses to return. Meanwhile, Aquaman grapples with the revelation that Mera was sent to Earth with orders to kill him.
In "Dead Zone," Mera confronts Aquaman with a secret that fractures their bond: she was sent to this dimension to kill him, but instead found something far more dangerous—love. As tensions rise, she reveals a shocking truth: Siren is her sister, and their shared past is far from simple.
