Soaring above the Gotham City skyline against a bold orange-and-teal backdrop, Batwing cuts a striking silhouette in this New 52 collected volume — arms outstretched, winged suit gleaming with subtle blue detail lines, with a massive Bat-symbol radiating light behind him. Darwyn Cooke's cover art gives the whole package a clean, retro-modern energy that feels both fresh and assured. Writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, joined by artist Eduardo Pansica and inker Júlio Ferreira, bring "The End of the Beginning" to life in what IGN called "the hero we've been waiting for.
