Avengers #6
The Squadron Supreme crashes headlong into the Avengers on this George Pérez cover for issue #6, and the sheer density of combatants is a sight to behold — Ms. Marvel, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and more trade blows with their Squadron counterparts in a sprawling, kinetic clash that fills every inch of the image. A small inset figure in the upper left corner and the bold "Squadron Supreme vs. The Avengers" banner leave no doubt that this is a full-scale team-on-team confrontation. Kurt Busiek and Pérez were clearly firing on all cylinders in 1998, and the "Nuff Said!" badge in the corner feels like an entirely earned boast.
