“Sticks and Stones Will Break My Bones, But Luck Will Never Hurt Me!”

In "Sticks and Stones Will Break My Bones, But Luck Will Never Hurt Me!", Jughead's latest scheme takes flight when he buys a parakeet and tries to teach it to talk—only to find the bird's vocabulary is far more colorful than he expected. When Mr. Weatherbee dismisses the girls’ request for a bird feeder, the parakeet’s sudden, repeated phrases from the schoolyard start making the principal question his own sanity. Art by Samm Schwartz brings the whole chaotic, feathered farce to life, with Schwartz also handling the cover.

Jughead buys a parakeet and tries to teach it to talk. Meanwhile Mr. Weatherbee turns down the girls' request to buy a feeding station for the birds. The parakeet lands on Mr. Weatherbee's window sill and starts repeating all the phrases it's heard recently, making Weatherbee think he's hearing things and convincing him he needs to buy the bird feeders.
