In this lighthearted 1960 tale from *Archie's Pal Jughead* #64, Betty clings to the belief that her new ring brings her luck—until Jughead casually declares that any ordinary rock he picks up can be lucky, just by believing it. Suddenly, fortune seems to favor Jughead, leaving Betty questioning whether her ring is truly special or if luck is just a matter of mindset.
In "Cheep Talk!", Jughead’s new parakeet accidentally becomes a walking (or rather, squawking) echo chamber, repeating everything it’s heard—especially the latest complaints from the girls about Mr. Weatherbee’s refusal to fund a bird feeder station. When the bird lands on Weatherbee’s windowsill and starts chirping the very phrases he’s just dismissed, the principal begins to wonder if he’s losing his mind—or if maybe he’s been wrong all along.
In "What Price Friendship?", Jughead faces a tough choice when Mr. Lodge offers him money to skip out on his plans with Archie—so Archie can take Veronica to the country club tea dance. Though tempted by the cash, Jughead’s loyalty wins out when he realizes the real reason he couldn’t go was his own lack of funds, and he quietly gives the money to Archie.
