The Jughead Jones Comics Digest #59
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA lakeside camping trip goes hilariously sideways on this cover by penciler Doug Crane and inker Jon D'Agostino, where Jughead — crown and all — takes a resounding "WAP!" from what appears to be a fishing rod while a fish leaps from the water below him. Nearby, a companion tends to a campfire beside a yellow tent, asking what's eating him, and Jughead's punchline answer — "half the mosquitoes on the lake" — sets the perfect comic tone. This 128-page digest from 1989 packs plenty of Riverdale fun into one slim volume, with a note that "The New Archies Are Back!" making it an appealing grab for fans of the whole gang.

Jughead buys a parakeet and tries to teach it to talk. Meanwhile Mr. Weatherbee turns down the girls' request to buy a feeding station for the birds. The parakeet lands on Mr. Weatherbee's windowsill and starts repeating all the phrases it's heard recently, making Weatherbee think he's hearing things and convincing him he needs to buy the bird feeders.
