The Jughead Jones Comics Digest #59
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeJughead spins a wild tale to Archie and Reggie, claiming a mysterious package they "stole" from him holds the golden eye of the sacred idol of Ranjipur—though it’s really just a brass doorknob. Soon, the boys find themselves plagued by a string of increasingly absurd misfortunes, all seemingly tied to their ill-gotten prize.
In a lighthearted moment of teenage romance and playful secrecy, Jughead gives Archie a heads-up about his obvious feelings for Veronica—prompting Archie to suggest they keep their relationship under wraps. As the trio navigates the usual high school antics, the idea of a "private affair" sets off a chain of mischievous misunderstandings that only the ever-hungry Jughead can fully appreciate.
In "The Big Burn," Archie Andrews and Mr. Weatherbee find themselves in a splashy mishap at the beach, leading to an ill-advised jet-ski ride that strands them on a deserted shore. With Archie off chasing distractions and Mr. Weatherbee left baking in the sun, things heat up faster than anyone expected.
When a lab mishap gives Jughead Jones an unexpected glow-in-the-dark shine, he accidentally turns his midnight snack run into a full-blown (and very hungry) scare tactic—sending diners fleeing and leaving behind untouched plates. With Archie Andrews and Reggie Mantle catching glimpses of the glowing phenomenon, the mystery of the glowing teen and his midnight feasts begins to spread through Riverdale.
Jughead's latest obsession is a chatty parakeet he's trying to teach to talk, but when the bird starts echoing the most unexpected phrases—especially after landing on Mr. Weatherbee’s windowsill—the principal starts questioning his own sanity. With Betty and Veronica lobbying for bird feeders and Jughead’s feathered friend unintentionally turning the tables, chaos flutters through Riverdale’s school halls.
