Dan DeCarlo's cover for this June 1990 issue says it all: Veronica and a visibly nervous Archie are seated on a couch, reacting in alarm to a large wall clock bearing the stern, mustachioed face of Veronica's father, Mr. Lodge — who, as the speech bubble helpfully explains, "had that NEW clock custom made!" The image perfectly captures the classic Archie dynamic of a wealthy, watchful father keeping tabs on his daughter's beau, and the comic timing is spot-on. Inside, Stan Goldberg and Hal Smith bring their signature warmth to "Yard Sale Season," making this a thoroughly fun installment in the long-running series.
