Archie 1000 Page Comics Blow-Out #[nn]
"Pop Goes the Pizza" is a delightfully chaotic 1000-page blow-out special that brings together Riverdale’s favorite teens in a whirlwind of flirtation and farce. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Dan DeCarlo, with inks by Rudy Lapick, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Bill Yoshida, this issue sees new girl Cheryl Blossom shake up the usual romantic dynamics—prompting jealousy, mistaken assumptions, and a surprising rescue by Jughead’s legendary magic pin. The cover by Dan DeCarlo captures the moment perfectly, a playful snapshot of teenage chaos in full swing.

Betty introduces new-girl-in-town Cheryl Blossom to Archie and Reggie. Cheryl immediately lets the guys know she is available for anything they might have in mind and lets Betty know that she is serious about it. Veronica catches Archie and Cheryl in a mildly compromising situation and is outraged until Jason Blossom arrives and sweeps her off her feet. Jughead arrives and uses his "magic pin that makes him irresistible to women" to save Archie from Cheryl. Cheryl and Jughead walk off arm in arm.
