The issue was edited by Victor Gorelick, Archie Comics' longtime managing editor, and published on a bi-monthly schedule with an on-sale date of June 28, 1983. Cheryl Blossom had been introduced by writer Frank Doyle and artist Dan DeCarlo in Betty and Veronica #320 (1982), but parental pressure over her overtly provocative characterization led Archie Comics to quietly scale back her appearances within roughly two years of her debut. Archie #325 therefore represents one of her earliest cross-title appearances, at a moment when the character's long-term fate within the line was still very much in question.
