“Money To Burn”

A ski-slope mishap sets the comic tone perfectly on this 1976 issue, with Archie riding a chairlift in full winter gear while two ski patrol members on the adjacent chair transport what appears to be an injured passenger on a stretcher — prompting two onlooking skiers below to remark that poor Archie has "a reputation of being accident prone!" The cover gag header adds another layer of fun, teasing Archie's fashion sense alongside a lounging figure. Cover pencils by Dan DeCarlo and inks by Rudy Lapick give the snowy scene that warm, breezy charm the Archie Series does so well.
