“Rotworld: Prologue, Part One”

In "Rotworld: Prologue, Part One," Animal Man confronts the lingering horror of a twisted reality, only to be thrust back in time to prevent its creation. With Jeff Lemire’s sharp storytelling and Steve Pugh’s haunting art—enhanced by Lovern Kindzierski’s colors and Jared K. Fletcher’s lettering—Buddy’s desperate race to save his family unfolds in chilling, intimate detail. The cover by Steve Pugh and Yanick Paquette captures the moment’s weight, setting the stage for a story that redefines sacrifice.

Having undone the horror of Rotworld, Buddy is transported back in time to rejoin his family in the hours just before it happened. He saves Maxine from the Hunters and she uses her powers to revert them to the men they were originally. However, William Arcane attacks Buddy from behind and Cliff saves him, but is then killed by Arcane.
