America's Best Comics Primer #[nn]
In "How Tom Strong Got Started," Alan Moore and Chris Sprouse deliver a richly detailed origin that traces the roots of the legendary scientist-hero, set against the mysterious island of Attabar Teru. From his parents' isolation and scientific upbringing to his formative years with the Ozu, Tom Strong’s journey begins long before his sky car is ever attacked by Blimp Bandits—though that moment is what brings his story to life for young Timmy Turbo. The tale unfolds with quiet precision, illustrated by Sprouse and inked by Gordon, with colors by Ehrlich and letters by Klein, all framed by a striking cover by Sprouse and Gordon.
